Moment in a life.

It comes.

That moment everyone is able to see but never acknowledges. It comes. To everyone and everything.

That instant when a heart breaks, a nation falters, an army looks over their shoulder and begins to think of retreat. It is felt in that moment you first understand that your pet's bed will never be warmed by them again, tasted in the instant that it is sure knowledge that a familier laugh has not been heard for too long and will indeed, never be heard again.

That moment when the eyes say, "enough, I have had enough!"

It can be as ordinary as a tiny grey lady sitting alone at her fine set table and noticing how yellow the linens are; and how no one sits in the chairs any more. No clatter of silver services on sparkling glass and plate. No joyous murmurs of sweet, bitter sweet, family gathering at festive times.

It is captured in the sound of a favorite necklace being clasped shut one final time before the lid closes and the earthly light is locked out.

It is that turning moment.

That moment when a person clearly sees how much time has been spent and how little time is left.

Then.

You go on.
